The Day I fell in love !

Chad didn't go on this trip to Portugal. Of course I called him every once in a while to tell him how much fun I was having! He makes fun of me because the first thing I said when he answered the phone was "everything we have has to go!" And again when he picked me up at the airport I said let's sell everything ....I have to have one of these horses!. So we are slowly trying to find wonderful homes for all the horses except Kelly and Lindsey(aka Kelly's side kick). They get to retire as wonderful pasture art. Kelly still loves a nice slow trail ride in the winter, but since she currently is missing one eye, does not sweat, and has mild Cushings she will be staying with us. My poor beauty. We never really got to fulfill our partnership, but she and her other set of eyes Lindsey will always have a place. It's an old ladies club.
On a side note, there is something special and loving about their bond. Kelly is kept in a separate smaller area at night and let out in the big pasture each morning. And always waiting patiently at the gate for her is Lindsey. They spend the day together walking, grazing and sometimes running through the pasture with Lindsey always on Kelly's blind side. Considering Lindsey spend most of her life as a PMU mare confined and truly alone, the understanding and compassion she has for Kelly is a lesson we all can learn from.

Here is a picture of love at first ride........I just love this horse!!!

July 13

This is a blog to keep our family and friends posted on all the goings on around here. Last month Chad and I became engaged. He did a wonderful job with the proposal. He told me we were going to the Woodlands Resort for a couple days of down time after school let out. We had a great room over looking the giant pool. Very Posh . The room was located on it's own private floor that you had to have a key to access. We sent the afternoon in the spa just relaxing. That night we had a lovely dinner at the resort restaurant over looking the water. During dinner a wedding was being held on the deck below us. We watched the whole parade from our table. Later we took a walk around one of the resorts lovely ponds. We stopped to take in the view. When we stopped at least 50 turtles started to make their way to the shore. I think they were hoping for a free meal. I of course wanted to go and get something to feed them but Chad had other plans. He didn't get down on one knee...I think the turtles climbing on shore threw off his proposal speech. Needless to say I was surprised. That night we had champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries waiting in our room. We are not big drinkers. We had a glass of the champagne but ate all the strawberries. The next day we went back to the spa and took a swim at the resort pool. It was a very relaxing weekend. We will keep you posted on our wedding plans
